A pleasant walk away from the striking medieval town of Urbania and an easy drive to the fascinating hisorical centres of Urbino, Gubbio, Pesaro, Fano, Assisi and elsewhere, Casa Maria is an enchanting and prized location for the luxury traveller.
Urbania is found on the banks of the Metauro river and offers plenty for visitors to see and do.
From walks around the town taking in the 13th century Palazzo Ducale and the adjacent museum with interesting paintings and ceramics testifying the town's history as a ceramics centre, to the Mummy Museum, a decidely unusual visitor attraction featuring various mummified corpses upstanding on display in their individual cabinets in the local cemetery.
After such a blood-chilling trip Casa Maria is the perfect place to return, relax and unwind. Downstairs the former stalls and barns have been converted into a delightful large sitting room and bar for guests to relax and enjoy.
And outdoors an enticing and generous pool is the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the all day sun before taking a stroll around the extensive grounds and wonderful lawns and gardens.
The first and second floors of the property are devoted to the accommodation - a mix of 5 one bedroom apartments each with their own living room, double bedroom and kitchenette and 6 spacious en suite double bedrooms, all bathed in natural light frmo the large windows.
Stone floors and wooden beamed ceilings faithfully adhere to the local building traditions and provide a warm and homely feel.
To further enhance your stay the owners are happy to help organise all manner of excursions and courses. Among them treks, ceramic and cookery courses, mountain bike rides and sight-seeing tours to local towns.
And back at your accommodation on request, apart from the home made pastries and cakes served every morning at the buffet breakfast, guests can also delight in local delicacies served up in thecosy on site restaurant, on request.
