Near Amandola, Marche, Italy

Well appointed hilltop villa with stunning views, sleeping 12 to 14 guests, with floodlit pool (oval, approx 9x5m)

This thoughtfully restored holiday rental villa boasts stunning views over the Marche countryside and the Sibillini mountains, and right down to the Adriatic Coast.

There is great walking from your doorstep with the nearest restaurant is a 20 minute walk or a very short drive and the nearest bar and chemist a five minute drive. By the lake in the bottom of the valley, also just a five minute drive, are two wonderful restaurants providing wood oven cooked pizza in the evening and a range of pasta, meat and vegetarian dishes for lunch and dinner. Meals can also be prepared for you at the villa.

The towns of Amandola, Comunanza and Monte San Martino are all just a ten minute drive away. Amandola has a very pretty market square full of life, lovely cafes, boutiques and restaurants and is seen by many as the gateway to the spellbindingly beautiful Monti Sibillini National Park. Comunanza and Amandola have bustling markets once a week and both have an ampleselection of good eateries.

Nature lovers, walkers, mountainbikers, paragliders, mountaineers, skiers or simply lovers of the great outdoors will be spoilt. And the owner of the property has an intimate knowledge of the local mountains and is happy to suggest routes and accompany walkers as well as arrange for fine feasts at various local restaurants at the end of a good day's walk.

But you can enjoy all this from your table at some of the many osterias and agriturismos that are common throughout the area, and provide not only wonderful cuisine at affordable prices but have stunning views from their windows and balconies.

In the summer months fairs, festas and festivals are in constant competition around the local towns, so just look out for the street signs that criss cross the roads in each town and village, announcing their special culinary delights and when to savour them.

There are many museums and galleries in the area and with famous painters such as Rafael and Crivelli in prominence. And evening summer markets abound.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

From Villa Giovanna you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the surrounding hills that slope down to the distant sea and of the peaks of the nearby Sibillini Mountains.

An authentically restored stone farmhouse comprising 4 suites, a large living room with an open fireplace and two smaller sitting rooms warmly welcome guests into an atmosphere where attention to detail enhances the tranquillity of country life.

In order to make your stay more comfortable and cosy, there are three living rooms in which to converse, relax and read. The bedrooms are big and each one has a small sitting room to make one's stay more pleasant and relaxing. In the large kitchen cakes, biscuits and jams, made from strictly organic fruit grown at Villa Giovanna are available, which will enrich your breakfast with the flavours of once upon a time.

Each bedroom is characterised by the name of a flower or plant, from the colour to the attention to detail that makes each one welcoming and special.

Rose is the most romantic room, decorated in tones of pink with a floral theme. There is a canopy bed on the mezzanine much loved by younger guests. It is ideal for two people. There is space to add a cot.

Lilac is the biggest suite, made special by stone walls and the stunning views from each of the four windows of the hills that slope down towards Amandola with the Sibillini mountains beyond. This suite can accommodate two adults and two children.

Ivy is the most elegant suite with stonewalls and antique, family furniture. Made up of two rooms it can accommodate a couple and a child. It looks toward the Sibillini Mountains and overlooks the courtyard.

Sunflower is the most intimate bedroom, with a delightfully elegant sitting room on a mezzanine furnished with period furniture. It faces the surrounding green hills and can accommodate two people.

A large flower garden provides relaxation for guests along with a good book or with a few friends. Benches, small tables, deck chairs and sun beds are dotted here and there about the garden, under the big gazebo and by the pool. Or why not spoil yourself with a relaxing or therapeutic massage whilst enjoying the view of the Sibillini.

As well as in the big stone farmhouse, guests can stay in a self-contained cottage, once the hay loft and woodshed, ideal for a family of four. One bedroom and en suite are suitable for guests with limited mobility. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with electric stove, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, small electrical appliances and enough crockery for four people.

There is a double bedroom with an en suite and, on the floor above, another bathroom and two single beds on the mezzanine.

Outside, there is an area to have lunch or to relax with a view of the Sibillini Mountains. Guests staying in the cottage also have the use of the garden, the swimming pool, the strictly organic orchard and the vegetable garden.
