Near Camerino, Marche, Italy

Country house with one bedroom studio apartments and en suite bedrooms provided with electricity and hot water using green solar panel energy

A great alternative to the traditional villa with pool holiday, agriturismos and country houses in Marche offer relaxing rural retreats coupled with the freedom to explore your surroundings to the maximum - the best of both worlds - and so it is with Cinzia's Country House.

Staying at this wonderfully restored 18th century property and gardens gives you the chance to immerse yourselves in Le Marche's wonderful countryside, visit the wealth of beautiful medieval towns dotted therein and enjoy some of the traditional delicacies and fine local cuisine the area around Camerino has in abundance.

The estate has 16 en suite double bedrooms, a triple bedroom suite and four mini apartments with their own en suite double bedroom and living/kitchen areas with double sofabed.

Discreetly placed solar panels on the roof take advantage of the property's sunny position to heat its water and solar cells transform the sun's energy into electricity for the country house, reducing reliance on gas and substantially reducing your carbon footprint while on holiday.

And the property has been restored retaining many original features while outside is a growing sensory garden inviting you to stroll around and enjoy the intoxicating perfumes and variety of colours.

Nearby Camerino is a wonderful university town now completely restored following an earthquake in 1997. A hill top town on the border with Umbria, it has been an important if small town (only 8,500 inhabitants) since it came under the wing of the noble Da Varanno family in the 13th century.

They dominated the political landscape for three hundred years and were responsible for many of the fine buildings and little piazzas which remain virtually unchanged up to the present day.

Fine local restaurants are in abundance, both in the town itself and in the surrounding countryside, and there is much to see and do in the area, from walking and hiking to sight-seeing and shopping.

Camerino has a small market every Saturday and nearby San Severino on a Friday.
