Casa Corviello

Casa Corviello

Near Gualdo, Marche, Italy

Casa Corviello is a beautiful five bedroom old stone-built farmhouse with an additional separate one bedroom cottage set in stunning, open surroundings and not overlooked. The grounds include an olive grove, a large custom-made barbecue, swimming pool and mature gardens, surrounded by gently rolling hills of sunflower and wheat fields as far as the eye can see.

The main house is spacious, comfortable and well furnished and the cottage is also spacious but cosy, comprising one spacious en suite double bedroom, a living room and kitchen, making it perfect for grandparents and relatives who want to holiday together but still retain some independence.
Attached to the cottage is a utility room with a washing machine and dryer and a further toilet and shower room. Extensive gardens which include a swimming pool and an in-ground trampoline add to the spaciousness.

Access to the property is via a short white road which is safe and easily driveable.

In the main villa there are five bedrooms of which three have double beds (one double is ensuite). The children's bedrooms are a triple and a twin, making five single beds in total. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor and a further shower room on the second floor.
In the cottage there is a double bedroom and a single room, bringing the total number of bed spaces to 16. There is also a second kitchen in the cottage should guests wish for slightly more independence.

For those looking to relax and unwind or guests planning to celebrate a special event or anniversary, Casa Corviello and the surrounding villages and towns provide the perfect location. An Italian cook is also on hand to prepare you authentic local dishes at the villa on request.
The property is blessed with modern comforts in a thoroughly traditional and rustic setting. The kitchen is wonderfully supplied with a mix of traditional local crockery, pots and pans and custom-built rustic units with nice personal touches, such as the wine store in the side of the stone kitchen unit.

There is direct access from the kitchen onto the covered loggia, ideal for al fresco dining and relaxing in the shade. Beyond is the fragrant terraced garden, below which is the pool, complete with sun loungers, parasols and a wonderful purpose-built outdoor barbecue. Around to the side of the cottage a traditional and fully functioning pizza oven is also available for use. Several hammocks are dotted around the garden to provide great places to relax with a book and a drink.

Nature lovers are also spoilt, with this lovely country house ideally located for exploring the nearby Monti Sibillini National Park, a little trodden wildnerness of intoxicating beauty and one renowned for its rare flora and fauna, including wolves, the odd bear, chamoix, red and roe deer, an occasional eagle owl, and several nesting pairs of golden eagles.
Small groups of walkers and hikers enjoy the park in the spring and summer, and it is popular with local skiers and snow boarders in the winter. The ski resorts of Sassotetto, Frontignano and Pintura di Bolognola are ideal for beginners. From the property you can be on the slopes in 30 minutes.

The local villages are unspoilt and charming, chief among them Sarnano, just a fifteen minute drive away, a thriving market town set in the national park and a mecca for walkers and hikers.
All the local towns have a range of amenities and shops, as well as excellent restaurants serving delicious local delicacies such as wild boar, the local lasagna vincisgrassi and white and black truffles.

The National Antiques Fair is held annually in the historic centre of Sarnano and sees the winding medieval streets of the town transformed into an antiques market, whilst in August the Medieval Festival - Palio del Serafino - is an unmissable event for tourists and locals alike.
Sarnano is known as one of the gateways to the Sibillini Mountains and is a buzzing place in both summer and winter, when it becomes a popular ski basefor the little resorts of Sassotetto and Pintura di Bolognola in the mountains which rise up behind the town.
The local village of Gualdo is a just a three minute drive away - or a good run or long walk! In this pretty traditional village you will find all you need on a daily basis - cafe, bank, pharmacy, restaurant and small but well stocked supermarket.

Numerous other towns and villages offer a treasure trove of history and art waiting to be discovered. A popular theatre festival takes place in Amandola in August and September, attracting visitors and artists from all over the world. And in November people flock to the town from far and wide to take advantage of the nationally renowned white and black truffle fairs held there.

In the small church of San Martino in Monte San Martino you can see one of the few remaining intact poliptychs painted by the brothers Carlo and Vittore Crivelli.

If during your stay you feel like a dip in the sea or visiting some fine fish restaurants, then the Adriatic coast with its numerous seaside resorts is only 50 minutes drive away.
Here you can visit any number of seaside resorts all with their own charm. Among the popular coastal destinations are Sirolo and Numana, but be warned they get very bust in high summer. Also lovely to visit are Porto Recanati, Civitanova Marche, Porto Sant'Elpidio, Porto San Giorgio, Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto. These provide a mix of pebble and sandy beaches.
